Foreship wins 2023 Ship Design Award

Foreship’s extensive work to help shipping achieve its goals for decarbonization has been recognized in its success as the GREEN4SEA EUROPORT Ship Design Award winner for 2023.

The industry-led award was secured in acknowledgement of Foreship’s concept design for an innovative ammonia-fueled 15,000 TEU container ship, commissioned by Seaspan Corporation as part of a collaborative project with Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping. Foreship’s ground-breaking design secured Approval in Principle from American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in July.

Reserved for organizations that can demonstrate a significant breakthrough in, or contribution to Environmentally Friendly Ship Design, the award is secured by popular vote, and was made at a ceremony held during the Europort exhibition 2023.
