SENIOR SPECIALIST, ELECTRICAL AND BATTERY SYSTEMS

As a Senior Specialist, Battery Energy Storage Systems at Foreship Ltd you are participating in projects supporting the Ship Owners across different shipping segments in achieving their decarbonization targets via fully electric and hybrid solutions both for newbuilds as well as existing ships.

In your role, you will:

• Participate and manage projects related to decarbonization across new buildings and conversions with focus on battery energy storage systems
• Provide expertise in electric power systems, battery infrastructure & integration
• Prepare design documents and reports for various projects
• Provide technical services over the entire project life cycle, including sales and sales supporting tasks for various projects
• Interact with customers, classifications societies, authorities, suppliers, and partners
• Report to the Head of New Technologies

To succeed in this role, you need:

• A broad understanding of battery technologies, battery chemistry and battery integration
• Good knowledge of electrical power systems onboard ships
• Knowledge of electrical network calculations, e.g. short circuit calculations, harmonics and EMC
• Understanding of shipbuilding, naval architecture and ship design
• Experience in written reporting and technical presentation
• Knowledge and experience in working with regulatory bodies, such as Classification Societies and Flag States
• Excellent computer skills including MS Office and AutoCAD
• Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, or similar
• Fluent in English, both oral and written
• Ability to travel
